Job Purpose:
The Controls Engineer will be executing the design of temperature control systems. Work with other team engineers in completing drawings and design packages while cross checking design details in electrical power, control panels, relay logic, wiring and control devices in association with HVAC, access, lighting and CCTV systems. Demonstrate the ability to accept responsibility and put into practical skills, leadership, and judgment from previous experiences.
In addition, the position may support software engineering and systems networking including programming, systems networks and communications.
What You Will be Doing:
- You will produce system layouts and controls design based upon construction documents
- You will generate Design Submittals, As-Builts and O&M packages
- You will obtain cut sheets, coordinate submittal process and O/M assembly
- You will be ensuring the design complies with contract drawings and specifications for completeness and accuracy.
- You will be choosing the correct devices for the correct applications while remaining within the specification.
Knowledge, Skills and Education Qualifications
- Technical skills and education:
- Experience in designing control systems for commercial HVAC applications
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical and architectural construction documents.
- Experience with computer aided design software
- Two- or Four-year degree in engineering, engineering technologies or related field
